Bethel Delise Laflen

July 1, 1936 — February 28, 2009

Bethel Delise “Beth” Laflen was born July 1, 1936, at Mankato, Kansas, to Gerald and Waunda (Fiero) Stout, and died February 28, 2009 at the Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, Kansas, at the age of 72 years and 7 months.

Beth was educated in the Mankato Public Schools. She was a L.P.N. and worked in Salina, and at the Jewell County Hospital in Mankato, before health concerns caused her retirement.

She married Billie Lee Laflen. To this union one son, Billie, was born. Beth was preceded in death by her husband in November of 2003, her parents, one sister, Bonnie McPherson, and several aunts and uncles.

Beth was active in the Assembly of God Church in Jewell. She loved playing Bingo. Beth enjoyed her cats, and she took very good care of them. Pictures, photographs, and art work brought many hours of enjoyment and personal reflections, when family and friends were not close by.

Bethel is survived by her son, Billie and wife Shannon Laflen of Salina, Kansas; two sisters, Jean and husband, Arden Malsbury of Junction City, Kansas, and Belita Ann and husband, Marvin Birzer of Hutchinson, Kansas; four grandchildren, Colton, Chase, Chanler, and Rose; and a host of other relatives and friends.
