Ethel Virginia Mcnabb

March 15, 1926 — April 10, 2016

Ethel Virginia McNabb of Esbon, Kansas, was born March 15, 1926, in Pinedale, Wyoming. She died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the Golden Living Center, Downs, Kansas, at the age of 90 years, and 26 days. Her parents were John and Lillian (Mack) Boulter.

She attended high school in Grangeville, Idaho and Rock Springs, Wyoming.

After two previous marriages, May 18, 1959, Ethel married Larry McNabb.

Ethel lived for two years on the Island of Malta, while Larry worked in North Africa. After returning from overseas, they lived for about 20 years in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They moved to a farm in Mankato Kansas area in 1991, where they made their home for the next 13 years. After her husband retired, they left the farm, moved to Esbon, and spent winters in Texas.

She loved children and was a den leader for cub scouts for several years. Ethel enjoyed making Christmas cookies with the neighbor children. She liked to work on the computer, read books, and travel. She attended Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato, and Esbon United Methodist Church.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents – John and Lillian Boulter; her daughter – Evelyn Foster, and two sisters – Alice Ray and Ruth Sonday.

She is survived by her husband – Larry McNabb; son-in-law – Timmy Foster; granddaughter – Michelle and husband Bill Banks; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service for Ethel Virginia McNabb will be (was) held Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the Esbon United Methodist Church, Esbon, Kansas, with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Pianist will be (was) Mrs. Janet Kriley, and Pastor Gerry Sharp will sing (sang} “You are the Wind Beneath My Wings,” and “How Great Thou Art.” Interment will be (was) in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the Esbon United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be left at www.melbymortuary.com. Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas, was in charge of arrangements.
