Barbara Ann (Diamond) Snyder, of Mankato, Kansas, was born April 6, 1934, at the family home located in Lebanon, Kansas. She was the daughter of Don and Lois (Brown) Diamond. Barbara died Monday, August 31st, 2026, at the Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, Kansas, at the age of 92 years, 3 months, and 25 days.

Barb spent the first 21 years in rural Jewell County, Kansas, before moving permanently to Mankato after marrying Don. Barb attended school in Montrose, graduating from Montrose High School.

Barb married Donald Dean Snyder, on June 12, 1955. Barb and Don celebrated 62 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2017.

Barb worked at Willsman Café in Mankato before she and Don were married, then worked for many more years at the Mankato Lumber Company alongside her beloved husband Don.

Barb enjoyed shopping for purses, going to coffee with the girls from around town, watching Kansas Jayhawks basketball and Kansas City Royals baseball. Earlier in their marriage, Barb and Don very much enjoyed travelling and seeing much of the Unites States together both as a couple and sometimes with family. She especially enjoyed Colorado, which Barb would tell you was a place that she truly loved. Barb was also eager to spend time with her many nieces, nephews, and family members, reliving the days gone by, as well as the current activities in their lives was important to Barb.

Barb very much enjoyed dogs, cats and horses and had many as pets throughout the years. She also really enjoyed flowers and found great joy in seeing and smelling them when she had the chance.

Barb is survived by her brother-in-law, Ron Intermill and her sister-in-law, Jerilyn Diamond and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and nieces; a brand new great-great grandnephew and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Larry Diamond; five sisters in law, Virginia Righmeier, June Joslin, Erma Dunstan, Olive Intermill, and Leta Adams; four brothers in law, Nelson, Bob, Glen, and Gene Snyder.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, September 4, 2026, at Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato, KS with Pastor Jim Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mankato, KS. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Melby Mortuary, Mankato, KS. The family suggests memorials to Harmony United Methodist Church or the Jewell County Fire Department in care of Melby Mortuary, PO Box 384, Mankato, KS 66956.
