Curtis Wayne Smullins, Esbon, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Smith County Memorial Hospital at the age of 67.
Curtis was born to Ralph and Erma (McMains) Smullins on September 29, 1953. He grew up in Burr Oak and graduated from Burr Oak High School. He lived the majority of his life in his hometown, until his eyesight failed, and he moved to Esbon to be closer to his daughter.
Curtis spent his young adult years as part of a custom harvest crew with Wylie Knight, and later was able to do what he loved, farming.
Curtis had two children, Robbie and Shena. They were his biggest and proudest accomplishment. Curtis was a man who kept to himself and took most pride in working hard and providing for his children the best he could.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Erma. Left to mourn him are his children, Robbie Smullins of Burr Oak, Shena (Kenny) Mizner of Esbon; 5 grandchildren, Caiden, Olivia, Adi, Halle and Owen; a brother, Ronnie Smullins and two sisters, Pam Ingraham and Cathleen Nordman.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
