Patricia (Pat) G. Hedden, 85 of Glendale, AZ, entered the arms of the Lord on February 16, 2021. She was born on August 18, 1935 in St. Joseph Mo.
Her family later settled in Mankato, KS where she graduated from Mankato High School. She then attended Kansas State University and received a Degree in Elementary Education.
There she married the love of her life Wes. Her first assignment was teaching in a one room school with no running water. She always thought she got her ability to teach to all ages and abilities in this place. Her husband entered the Air Force and she moved with him to Spokane, WA. She worked on the Air Force Base as a substitute teacher. After leaving the Air Force the family moved to Salt Lake City, UT, Lawrence, KS, Satellite Beach, FL and Dickenson, TX.
In 1969 the family moved and finally settled in Phoenix, AZ. Here Pat worked for the Washington Elementary School District as a Special ED and regular classroom teacher. She retired in 1995. After retirement she pursued her lifelong passion of exploring her Irish-Scottish heritage. She made several trips to Ireland, Scotland and England to do genealogy research.
She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places such as, Australia, Europe, Turkey, Egypt and the Soviet Union. She enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren. Patricia was also an avid reader, a trait she passed on to her children. She is preceded in death by her siblings, William Ramey, Charlene Buck and son-in law Brad LeFevre.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wesley Hedden, children Jane LeFevre and Thomas Hedden (Rebecca). Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. At her request no memorial services will be held.
Interment will be at Mt Hope Cemetery in Mankato, KS at a later date. Because of her love of animals, she requested in lieu of flowers a donation be made to your local Humane Society.
